Nurturing the Next Generation Through Music and the Arts

Updated: Jul 26

Each time we hold space for a child’s growth, we’re nurturing the future stewards of our world. The stories, songs, environments and relationships children experience during their early years shape how they see themselves and others, influencing the communities they will one day lead and care for.

As a children’s playwright and songwriter, I think a lot about the role I play in their lives. I want to influence them in positive ways just like the people who taught me. We influence children with the stories we write, the music we create and the way we show up in our lives.

My journey of working with children inspired my first children's album, "Starseed Lullabies". Creating it allowed me to reconnect with my inner child, share my gratitude for the many children I’ve worked with over the years and make something meaningful for both children and adults to enjoy.

Those of us working with children may not always see the ripple effects of our work right away, but it's important to remember how much we can influence children's sense of belonging and safety in the world. It is not to be taken lightly.
